Why experience makes the difference


A professional translator must produce a document that appears to have been originally conceived and written in the target language. Not only that, but the final text must seem to have been written by someone who understands both the subject at hand and the target audience.

This amounts to a special skill that most translators lack. Being a 'native speaker' of the target language is only the most basic requirement and, by itself, is never, ever enough. Only the best professionals develop, over years of experience, the ability to look beyond the words – and even beyond the meaning behind the words –, and capture the true intent of the author.

For rush jobs, up to 5000 words per day, per client.

Fast. We always seek to allocate enough resources to handle up to 2000 words per day, per client. For rush jobs, we can reach 5000 words a day (a rush fee may apply).

That being said, please keep in mind that the time it takes to translate a document depends on the subject matter (technical vs. legal, for example), original and final document format (.doc, .xls, .ppt, .pdf, etc.) and other factors. Each case and each project must be considered individually.

You can easily check the cost for a specific project by specifying its different files on the top of this page. Just drop the files on the box to the left, or enter the information manually on the box to the right.

The cost of a translation varies according to the service being performed. The cost of a proofreading job, for example, is lower than that of a full translation. The cost to translate a .doc (Word) document is lower than that of a .ppt file (PowerPoint) where maintaining the original format is more difficult. Also, different language pairs will have different costs.

Absolutely, we will gladly prepare a formal price quote for you.

You can send us your project files via the interface at the top of this page, and request a formal price quote in the project's observations field. We will send you the quote by email.

Alternatively, you can request the quote directly via email or by giving us a call. Please be advised that we respond a lot quicker to requests sent via the website, and that emails may take longer.

We are flexible in our payment terms and willing to accommodate our client's terms in most cases. Our standard terms are net 15 days. We usually issue all our invoices on the beginning of each month, so all your projects for the previous month are normally grouped in one invoice. Don't worry, before invoicing you, we will send you a detailed report for your approval.

Also, for advertising agencies and other companies that provide communications services to their own client accounts, we can bill directly to those client accounts. Please contact us directly for more information.

From a variety of payment options, we prefer direct deposits or transfers into our bank account. For this purpose, we have bank accounts available in Brazil and in the United States. We also work with bank deposit slips, company checks, and PayPal.

We treat every document submitted to us with the utmost confidentiality. Only those staff members directly involved with the translation have access to your documents, and that access is limited to the duration of project.

Upon completion of the project the documents are stored in a restricted area in our servers, and will be available only to the Administrator and to you, through our website. Upon your request, we will promptly destroy all copies of your document.

Moreover, we will gladly consider any Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) you may propose.

Quality is paramount. Everyone at InScribe is completely committed to providing you with the best quality in all services rendered.

For translations under our Professional service tier, for example, all of the following measures are taken to ensure you will always receive the quality you are expecting – or better!

  • Only professionals with native command of the target language will work on your documents;
  • Translators and proofreaders have long experience with the subject at hand;
  • Every document is revised three distinct times, by different professionals;
  • Our team uses state of the art technology, such as grammar verification software, bilingual dictionaries, thesauri and translation memories;
  • We also leverage the latest GenAI tools.

For documents, we accept Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, as well as Adobe InDesign (IDML) files, in addition to PDF, XML, HTML, JPG, PNG, GIF, among others.

For media files - for transcription, translation and subtitling - we accept MOV, MPG, MP4, AVI, 3GP, WMV, MP3, MP2, WMA, WAV, SUB, ASS, SSA, among others.

Absolutely. All translations are returned in the same format and layout of the original, unless you ask for something different. The only exception is for PDF and image files, for which the translation is presented in a plain text document (no formatting).

We translate websites, hot-sites, software and even text in databases.

All of your documents, both original and translations, are available to you when you log into our website using your email address and password.

As soon as we complete work in one of your projects, our system will automatically send you an email asking you to log in and download your translation. If you prefer, we can send you the translations by email or even as a print-out via snail-mail.
